Herd's McClellan makes Watch List for Nagurski

DALLAS -- Marshall defensive end Albert McClellan was among 88 players named to the Watch List for the Bronco Nagurski Trophy, awarded annually to college football's top defensive player.

McClellan, who missed the entire 2007 season due to a knee injury, is one of five players from Conference USA who are on the list.

The others are UCF defensive back Joe Burnett, UAB free safety Wil Dunbar, Houston defensive end Phillip Hunt and Southern Miss linebacker Gerald McRath.

Marshall is coming off a 3-9 season.

Also included on the list are three Ohio State players: linebacker James Laurinaitis, defensive back Malcolm Jenkins and linebacker Marcus Freeman.

Kentucky cornerback Trevard Lindley also was named to the list.

The Bronco Nagurski Trophy winner will be announced at a reception on Dec. 7 at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte, N.C.
