Former MU football coach Mark Snyder hired at Texas A&M
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- New Texas A&M football coach Kevin Sumlin has hired former Marshall University coach Mark Snyder to be his defensive coordinator, the Houston Chronicle newspaper reported in a blog.
Snyder leaves the defensive coordinator position at the University of South Florida. The South Point, Ohio, native was the Marshall Thundering Herd head coach five seasons from 2005 to 2009.
Sumlin was hired last month from the University of Houston to replace Mike Sherman, who was fired following a 25-25 record in four seasons.
Texas A&M, coming off a 7-6 season capped by a Meineke Bowl victory over Northwestern, enters the Southeastern Conference this summer.
