Young athletes compete on track

ONA -- Youth athletes from the Tri-State competed Sunday on Chris Parsons Track at Cabell Midland High School in the West Virginia District 2 Hershey Track and Field Meet.
Athletes from Cabell, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, Mingo and Wayne counties were eligible. Age groups were 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14. The meet had the usual running events plus some unique field events that included the softball throw and standing long jump.
District winners advance to the West Virginia Hershey Track and Field Championships, June 23, at Cabell Midland.
State winners are eligible for possible invitations for expense-paid trips to the Hershey National Meet in Hershey, Pa.
