Babe Ruth: C-K Buffalo wins in Illinois regional

ROBINSON, Ill. -- Ceredo-Kenova/Buffalo opened the Babe Ruth Baseball 14-year-old Ohio Valley Regional tournament Friday with a 7-0 victory over Northern Illinois.

C-K/Buffalo pulled away 4-0 in the second inning.

Tyler Robertson singled, Greg Herbert was hit by a pitch and Chandler Milum picked up an RBI on a fielder's choice. Jaycob Wilson's double knocked in two more runs. Casey Saunders followed with an RBI double.

Aaron Hamm scored on a passed ball in the fourth inning. Josh Steele walked in the fifth and scored on Milum's single. Chase Hardin singled in the sixth and Steele hit into a fielder's choice that scored the seventh run.

Winning pitcher Zach Harvey went the first four innings, allowing three hits. Reliever Josh Steele pitched the final three innings, allowing two hits.

C-K/Buffalo's next game is 3 p.m., Saturday, against Janesville, Wisc.
