Four teams from Douglass/Cammack League advance to playoff semifinals
HUNTINGTON -- Four teams from the Douglass/Cammack League advanced to the Tri-State Youth Football League playoff semifinal round.
Playoff semifinal games are Saturday at Milton (10 a.m.) and Sunday at Ceredo-Kenova (1 p.m.).
The C-K league has three semifinal teams.
Semifinal games determine berths in the Turf Bowl Championships on Nov. 7 at Marshall University's Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
Following is a roundup of quarterfinal game highlights:
A TEAM: Beverly Hills defeated Chesapeake with Kristopher VanCamp scoring touchdowns on runs of 1 and 38 yards. ... Anton Washington had TD runs of 60, 65 and 3 yards in a Douglass/Cammack victory over Buffalo. Bubba Perry scored all three Buffalo touchdowns. ... Jakob Frye, Morgan Amend and Anthony Hager scored for Ceredo-Kenova against Boyd County. .. Tolsia beat West with Jennings Holland and Tyler Stroud both scoring two TDs. Caleb Varney for West scored on runs of 65 and 86 yards.
B TEAM: Buffalo's Jacob Hendricks had touchdown rushes of 53, 75 and 53 yards in a defeat of Ona. Tucker Watts scored on runs of 65 and 56 yards. ... Jaylon Adaway threw a touchdown pass to Dajon Congleton and also ran for a score in Douglass/Cammack's win against Milton. ... Cade Sebastian scored three TDs as Wayne downed Barboursville.
C TEAM: Darrell Hicks scored a pair of touchdowns for Douglass/Cammack in a win over Buffalo. ... Parker McComas and Logan Wilcox both scored twice in Ceredo-Kenova's victory against Fairland. Jeremiah Milum had three TD passes. ... Chesapeake defeated Barboursville with Casey McComas rushing for two scores. ... Vinson's Jonah Suttles had TD runs of 55 and 39 yards in a win over Wayne.
D TEAM: Jayce Gould scored on runs of 47 and 55 yards for Barboursville in a defeat of Wayne. ... Graeson Malashevich rushed for four touchdowns as Ceredo-Kenova beat Beverly Hills. ... Douglass/Cammack had three TD runs by Anson Fykes and beat Fairland. ... Milton beat South Point with Christian Smith scoring a pair of touchdowns.
