Ona girls slug past Milton, 11-1
BARBOURSVILLE -- It took a while for Ona to get its bats going on Thursday evening, but once they did, they never stopped.
HUNTINGTON -- Friday's action in the District 1 11-12 Little League baseball tournament at Ona will have a definite Wayne County feel to it.
Our champions
Huntington Hounds age 13-under travel baseball was the runner-up last weekend at the Kings Island Invitational in Cincinnati, winning five of six games to place second out of 20 teams. The Hounds won the Triple Crown Sports Morgantown Marathon, June 24-26, with a 5-0 record.
Barboursville girls win District 1 title

Madison Jeffrey allowed two hits and struck out 10 in four innings to lead Barboursville to a resounding 12-1, five-inning win over League 3. Barboursville advances to the state tournament, which begins July 16.

BARBOURSVILLE -- There's clutch and then there's the dramatics Logan Caldwell pulled Tuesday night to will the Ceredo-Kenova age 9-10 All-Stars over Milton, 14-13, to take the Little League Baseball District 1 runner-up game and advance to the state tournament.
