"God's Got a Plan" is one of the recent videos that The Carpenter Ants cut at Trackside Live in Huntington. The veteran Carpenter Ants, who tastefully testify to the goodness of blending up Dixie-fried gospel, R&B and rock 'n' roll, are celebrating the release of "Ants and Uncles," their first full-length CD since 2003's "Ants In Your Pants." The band will have a CD release party Saturday, Jan. 21, at The Empty Glass in Charleston. Huntington guitarist Bud Carroll, who has been a guest Ant on occasion, will open with his jangly-pop unit. Recorded in Nashville at Wayne Moss' legendary Cinderella Studios and produced with Don Dixon engineering and producing, "Ants and Uncles" is flavored with the tasty picking of guest guitarist Bill Kirchen and features such special guests as dobro master Jerry Douglas playing lap steel, pedal steel Hall of Famer Russ Hicks, keyboardist John Deaderick, great gospel singer Melody Jordan, Larry Groce and Bill Kimmons.
