A man with a bandana covering his face robbed a West Huntington convenience store early Tuesday, Feb. 19. Cabell County 911 received word of the incident at 8:46 a.m. at Go-Mart in the 1000 block of Washington Avenue. Huntington Police Lt. John Williams issued a press release stating a man entered the store, walked around the counter and demanded that a clerk open the cash drawer and give him money. Police released surveillance video in hopes of identifying a suspect. Anyone with information about the robbery or the person involved should call the Huntington Police Department tip line at 304-696-4444. Williams’ release said the assailant did not present a weapon, but indicated he was armed. Initial reports were the robber kept a hand in his pocket to make it look as if he had a gun. The robber then ran from the store with an undetermined amount of cash, the release states. Officers found a matching coat and bandana discarded at the 11th Street West intersection. No injuries were reported.
