Helping to save a life can be a great way to give thanks this year. The American Red Cross’ partner, Katie Lee, co-host of Food Network's "The Kitchen" and cookbook author explains why.
This Thanksgiving season, give with meaning. Either schedule an appointment to donate blood or platelets, or ask a friend, family member or co-worker to donate. Spread the word that donors are needed by sharing this video with others on social media using #GiveWithMeaning.

Touring off its new ATO Records release, "Remedy," the band will be performing at The Paramount Arts Center in Ashland at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13. Dom Flemons (founder of the Grammy Award-winning act Carolina Chocolate Drops) will be opening the show.

The San Francisco songwriting giant and his band The Mission Express stop into the V Club, 751 6th Ave., Huntington on Friday, Nov. 14 to play songs off his new Yep Roc Records CD, “Night Surfer.”
Ona opens the show as does Mississippi native Oakland-based songwriter John Murry, who released the critically-acclaimed EP, “Califorlornia,” this summer. Cost is $10 advance and $13 day of the show. Doors open at 8 p.m., and show is at 9 p.m.
