News Talk 800 WVHU hosts fundraiser for Boys and Girls Clubs of Huntington
News Talk 800 WVHU and Big Sandy Superstores are will are asking Huntington residents to "give some green" on St. Patrick's Day by hosting a "drive-by giving" fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at the Clear Channel Radio office at 134 4th Avenue.
Money raised will go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Huntington to help them after three Boys and Girls Club locations were recently broken into. Flat screen televisions and Playstation 2 game systems were taken from the locations.
"The Boys and Girls Clubs are a great organization and need our help," said Judy Cornett, Clear Channel Radio Huntington-Ashland Market Manager in a press release.
In addition to money raised, WVHU and Big Sandy Superstores will replace televisions and game systems that were stolen with new televisions and X-Box 360 game systems.
"Out of bad things, good things can happen, and even though we have difficulties in life, we have to look for positives," said Huntington Boys and Girls Club Executive Director Gary Walker.
