Kanawha Obedience Training Club to host dog training classes
DUNBAR — The Kanawha Obedience Training Club, an American Kennel Club licensed dog-training club, will begin classes on Sept. 7 at the Dunbar Recreation Center.
KOTC is a non-profit organization that was established in the 1950s. Members are volunteers who have trained their own dogs and competed in AKC-sanctioned matches and trials throughout the United States.
“If you have been watching ‘America’s Greatest Dog’ on TV this summer, you’ve discovered many aspects to dog training,” club member Helen J. Kline, of Scott Depot, said in a press release. “Dog training can be fun for both you and your dog, if you have a good attitude and good training yourself.
“A well-trained dog makes for a good family member, and chances of remaining in their home are a lot higher than those puppies and dogs who are never taught good obedience,” Kline said.
Classes for puppies, beginners, advance, open and rally will be taught.
