Charges dropped against Evans

September 09, 2011 @ 09:40 AM

Armed robbery charges were dropped Friday morning against Marshall University football player Troy Evans, according to a prepared release from Cabell County Prosecutor Chris Chiles.

The prosecutor’s office cited insufficient evidence as well as an alibi that has been corroborated by seven individuals, the release said.

"Troy is reinstated immediately," Marshall Atheletic Director Mike Hamrick said.

Head football coach Doc Hollliday said Friday afternoon that Evans will dress but will not play.
