Event to help war veterans taking place in Kenova
Marshall University student and Air National Guard veteran Andrew Blake has organized an event to benefit injured area veterans that takes place this afternoon at Dreamland Pool in Kenova.
The event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, said Blake, who served in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded soldiers. Its purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of the severely injured service men and women, to help the injured aid and assist each other and to provide unique programs and services to meet their needs.
Dreamland Pool is located along U.S. 60 West and 23rd Street in Kenova. The event kicks off at noon and includes swimming, live music, a roast and more.
