Summers County ARH receives federal funding
Summers County Appalachian Regional Healthcare Hospital has been awarded $265,548 to help update its emergency room.
U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services funding Tuesday.
Rahall says he requested the funding so that the hospital could continue providing quality care to rural residents. He says with gas prices reaching record highs, having health care close to home is more important than ever.
The emergency department renovation is part of a planned $7 million renovation and construction project for the Hinton hospital.
