Herd cruises past ECU, 77-56

The Marshall Thundering Herd mens basketball team jumped out to a 12-0 lead and never looked back, beating ECU 77-56 Saturday.

The Herd (9-9) was led by DeAndre Kane, who had 22 points while shooting 7-14 from the floor, including 3-6 from 3-point range. Kane also picked up eight assists. Forward Dennis Tinnon had a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Marshall shot 47 percent from the floor, and 39 percent from 3-point range. ECU was held to 32 percent shooting, including 25 percent from the 3-point line.

The win puts Marshall at 2-1 in Conference USA play, while ECU drops to 2-2.
