November 17, 2007 @ 11:28 PM

ASHLAND -- The River Cities Harvest Canned Food Drive Concert collected about 800 pounds of food at Fannin Motors on Saturday, according to WTCR's Eddie Riffe.

It was the eighth year for the benefit concert.

Along with collecting food, some who donated collected prizes.

Bob Slusher won an Ibanez guitar donated by Ashland Guitar Shop, Vicki Legg won the tickets to the Coasters, Platters and Drifters at the Paramount Arts Center, and George A. Brown won the tickets to the Appalachian Uprising Bluegrass Festival 2008.

ETA, Roger Smith, Monica Hodges, Tom Clay, Wendy April, Dana Romanello, and the Ritch Collins Three O performed during the concert, which was sponsored by Food Fair of Ashland, Porter Chiropractic, WTCR 103.3, Fannin Motors, Paramount Arts Center, and Appalachian Uprising.

River Cities Harvest is always looking for donors and volunteers. Call (606) 329-3045 for additional information.
