Arena concerts a unique gift idea

HUNTINGTON -- If you're struggling gift ideas this holiday season, you might want to take a look at the upcoming concert schedule at Big Sandy Superstore Arena.

Tickets to one of three recently announced shows featuring some of today's hottest acts could be just what you're looking for. Country hit makers Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town as well as rock stars Three Days Grace will each bring their shows to Huntington in the new year.

Most recently announced is country superstar Miranda Lambert's Locked and ReLoad Tour 2013. The show will feature Lambert and Dierks Bentley with special guests Thomas Rhett at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7. Reserved tickets are $51.75 and $27 plus applicable charges. Tickets go on sale via livenation.com, the arena box office, all Ticketmaster locations or charge by phone at 800-745-3000.

Lambert is country's reigning female vocalist of the year as bestowed by both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music. She's won the album of the year trophy from both organizations as well -- from the ACMs for her second record, "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," and from the CMAs and ACMs for her third, "Revolution." She was also named one of People magazine's Most Beautiful People.

Also going on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7 will be tickets to see multi-platinum selling rockers Three Days Grace and Shinedown with special guest P.O.D.

Tickets are $40.50 general admission floor, $40.50 and $25 reserved (plus applicable fees) and will be on sale at the arena box office and all Ticketmaster locations, ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-5000.

Armed with its latest hit, "Chalk Outline," Three Days Grace just wrapped up over a dozen sold out, intimate venue shows in celebration of the just released, Top 5 chart debuting album , "Transit of Venus," which debuted at #1 on the Hard Rock Music Chart and #4 on the Digital Albums Chart.

Shinedown's current album "Amaryllis," entered the Billboard 200 at #4 upon its release (#1 on the Rock Album chart), and has already spawned back-to-back #1 singles with "Bully" and "Unity."

Tickets are already on sale for the Little Big Town show at 8 p.m. Friday, March 1. Tickets are $27.50, $32.50 and $39.50, additional fees may apply. Tickets are available at the arena box office, Ticketmaster locations or by phone at 800-745-3000.

Special guest will be Kacey Musgraves.

The Tornado Tour is in support of the band's No. album of the same name, which features the hit song "Pontoon." The follow-up single is "Tornado."
