Milton to host singing competition
MILTON — Organizers hope singers converge on a little town in eastern Cabell County for its first “Milton Idol” contest.
The singing competition is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, according to a press release issued by the city.
The contest will feature three age categories — 4 to 10; 11 to 18; and 18 and up. The winner of each category will compete for the title of “Milton Idol.”
Contestants will need a second song, just in case they get into the finals. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners.
Performances will be limited to between two and three minutes.
Participants must register in advance and provide back-up or accompaniment arrangements. This will help organizers plan appropriate space and equipment.
Registration forms may be picked up at Milton’s City Hall Annex at 1595 U.S. 60 East. The registration period ends at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 6.
There will be no walk-ons. No shows will be disqualified.
