HUNTINGTON — Huntington police detectives are requesting the public’s assistance in investigating the death of a pedestrian killed along 3rd Avenue earlier this month.

According to police, Micah Crawford, 39, was hit and killed by a vehicle in the 1300 block of 3rd Avenue at 2:43 a.m. June 15. The police department is currently seeking any witnesses or video evidence involved before, during or after the incident.

Huntington Police Chief Hank Dial said the driver of the vehicle that killed Crawford remained on scene after striking him, but police believe witnesses might have seen the incident and left before police arrived. He said they want to speak with witnesses, or anyone who might have been filming in the area at the time the incident occurred, to help complete their investigation.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Jeff Ash at 304-696-4470, ext. 1039, or via email at tip@huntingtonwvpolice.com.
