NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS To maintain necessary clearances for safe and reliable electric service, Appalachian Power Company plans to manage vegetation along the Grassy Fork-Yawkey portion of its 34 kilovolt distribution system in Lincoln County, WV and a small portion in Boone County, WV. On or about April 1st, 2019 contract crews will begin to trim and remove trees and brush and apply herbicides along our rights-of-way. Work will be done in accordance with International Society of Arboriculture guidelines and take into account factors such as tree species, growth characteristics, line voltage, etc. In unmaintained or undeveloped areas, cuttings will remain on site so as to minimize soil disturbance and to promote biodegradation. Rights-of-way in this area involved in the program are: McCorkle Rd., Spring Branch, US Route 119, River Island Rd., Trussle Rd., Cobbs Creek, October Ridge, Hatwheel Rd., Chessie Ridge, Holstein Dr., Pine Grove, Treadway Lane, Maple Glen Trail, Gunwell Hollow, Priestly Ridge, Grouse Ridge, Butternut Trail, Wheeler Rd., Osbourne Lane, Little Johns Way, McCormick Dr., Frog Pond Road, Fords Lane, the mouth of Garretts Bend, Doris Lane, Fox Chase Rd., Cabela Dr., Howell Dr., Beech Fork, Fuquays Creek, Malcomb Lane, Merrigold Dr., Edwards Lane, Stevens Pt., Hidden Valley Dr., and Carmel Rd. Representatives will attempt to personally contact resident property owners at least seven business days prior to working on their property. Specifics regarding your property may be discussed at that time.
