OOPS: I apologize for the error in the Sept. 19 "Community News" column. I listed Ron Wroblewski as president of Veterans for Civic Improvement when in fact, Fred Buchanan has been its chair for the past three years. Ron, general chair of VCCI at one time, is currently president of Tri-State Chapter 949 Vietnam Veterans of America. Sorry Fred, thanks for letting me know the error and keep reading.

BULLY: Professional Bull Riders buck the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour's event into Huntington for the second consecutive time next week. The live sporting event featuring some of the best bull riders in the world on an eight-second ride begins at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, and 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Big Sandy Superstore Arena. Tickets are $15.

DAISY: Jennifer Brewer, BSN, RN with Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital's second floor oncology and stroke unit, may not be driving "Miss Daisy" around the neighborhood but she is carrying the Diseases Attacking the Immune System (DAISY) award recently presented by OLBH and Bon Secours. The Ashland resident received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Marshall University and is certified by the Oncology Nursing Society.

GREEN: United Green Building Building Council hosts West Virginia's first-ever Women in Green event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Marshall University Memorial Student Center. The theme is "Leading With Purpose." CONDOLENCES: Sympathy is with the family of Hunter Stanley Jr., who passed away Sept. 2, at age 85. The Pensacola, Fla., resident for a short time and former long-time Barboursville resident had a family bakery most of his life. The avid Kentucky Wildcat fan is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis; two sons, four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, as well as a beloved cockatiel, "Pretty Boy" of more than 20 years. May God's love surround and comfort the family during this time of grief.
