LITTLE: Probably never weighing more than 105 pounds in her lifetime, Dora Adkins was a strong woman in many ways. Like E.F. Hutton, when she spoke, most of her children listened. Her dancing, and sometimes piercing, brown eyes often told how she felt before she spoke. My grandmother passed in the late 80s, but her memory surrounds the family Friday, Feb. 15, (more than most days) as she would have celebrated another birthday.

REMEMBERING: Betty Hampton may not have been a big-name celebrity, but she inspired and touched more lives than many celebrities as she sang with the Beulah Trio for 25-plus years while sharing her Christian testimony. This special friend changed her address to heaven Feb. 14, 2009, at age 70. She continues to be missed by many.

ANNIVERSARY: Tell me it ain't so Pastor Chelcie and Bobbi Gibson celebrate a 50-year anniversary Thursday, Feb. 14. That news truly makes me feel old. This good pastor and his wife have been such a blessing over the years. May their lives continue with happiness, love, cherished moments and fond memories.
