If you're looking to grab a quick bite of quality barbecue in downtown Huntington, look no further than the Marathon Station on the corner of 5th Avenue and 6th Street. Located in the back of the Clark's Pump & Shop is a small barbecue stand serving pulled pork, brisket and ribs.

Andy's BBQ isn't only serving up barbecue, but also breakfast, which can include biscuit sandwiches and loaded hash browns. Owner Andy Moore has worked in the region's food scene for decades and has his own catering company near Ashland.

"I've had restaurants in Ashland going on for 40-some odd years. I started working for one of the Clark family at one of the stores in Ashland. They asked if I wanted to place in this store and that's how this one came about," Moore explained. "We started on the first of April. There really wasn't any transitional time as they had the kitchen already to go. All I had to do was bring my smoker. It's a mobile smoker and I have a couple more so we can do custom catering jobs for people."

No barbecue is complete without a tasty sauce to match, and Andy has created a few.

"Our main barbecue sauce is more of a tomato-based St. Louis-style red sauce. We have a Carolina-style barbecue sauce which is vinegar based. It's actually my favorite. There's a spicy sauce available too," Moore said. "For the pulled pork, the shoulder smokes at least 30 hours. The brisket smokes 12 hours. Ribs smoke on average four to five hours. We also do chicken.

"We also have a burger called The Wild Hog, which is topped with pulled pork. We also do burritos, nachos and quesadillas, which are topped with our smoked meats. We make our own salsa and a couple of different sauces including an avocado and sweet bell pepper aioli."

Customers can enjoy a BBQ sandwich (pulled pork and your choice of sauce) combo for $5.99, which comes with two sides.

There's also a brisket sandwich priced at $6.99, and a pulled chicken sandwich available for $5.99. Sides include coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, and jambalaya. You can also enjoy a large salad with greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, black olives and shredded cheddar cheese priced under $6.

Breakfast is also available as they serve sausage biscuits ($2.19), bacon biscuits ($2.29), and a pork tenderloin biscuit ($2.59). Biscuits and gravy are available in small ($2.69) and ($3.69).

"We can set up barbecue for tailgates, birthday parties, and reunions. But I'm also a chef. I've done weddings and even wedding cakes. I have a large catering menu on hand and we offer very competitive prices," Moore said. "Right now when Marshall plays I'm setting up outside for people who want to get pulled pork or ribs for their tailgating."
