Ashland-based chain Giovanni's is rather unique in that some of its locations have take-out only, others offer buffets and some have pubs.
For 15 years, a Giovanni's stood at the corner of 3rd Avenue and 20th Street in Huntington until 2014, when franchisee Tony Mancini would leave the chain. Since then, the location has changed hands and names several times. However, fans of Giovanni's unique chewy crust can rejoice as Giovanni's has returned to Huntington.
The new Giovanni's Pizza Power opened Jan. 21. It is owned by Robin and Shweta Arora, who previously owned the Arora Grill.
"The owners decided to go back to Giovanni's because there was one at this location that was successful. Our pizza is very unique. It's thin but soft and fluffy. We also have a unique small grind sausage that has a lot of flavor to it. We also have spicy sausage," manager Aaron McClung said. "We have a special sweet red dressing that we serve on a sandwich called 'The Big Red,' people love the red sauce. People get it with their pizzas, their calzones, their salads, and their bread sticks. We serve all of our sandwiches on Italian buns that are made specially for us over in Ashland."
There are several specialty pizzas, including the "Five Meat Treat," "Chicken Bacon Ranch," and the "Chicken Alfredo." Pizzas start at $5.35 for a 8-inch cheese pizza and go upwards to $15.85 for a 19-inch pizza. Calzones start at $6.85 with each topping being 75 cents each. There's also an assortment of 6-inch sandwiches including a meatball ($6), Philly steak & cheese ($6.65), and BLT & cheese ($6.) The restaurant also offers a selection of pasta including baked spaghetti ($7.50), chicken Parmesan ($7.95), and baked lasagna ($7.50.)
The 3rd Avenue Giovanni's is also fairly unique in that it also has a coffee shop with cappuccinos, lattes and mochas. The bar area features a selection of beer and wine as well as several big-screen televisions for game night.
"We have a carryout special on weekdays. We have a 12-inch cheese pizza for $4.99 and a 12-inch pepperoni for $5.99 after 4 p.m. Monday through Fridays. We also have a pick-up special. It's a 16-inch one-topping for $9.99. Our lunch specials are a 10-inch one-topping pizza and a drink for $7.99, or any sandwich and a drink for $7.99," McClung explained. "We also have party specials. You can get a two topping 19-inch for $22.49 or 16-inch for $19.99 plus two sides such as bread sticks, a pizza cookie, a large chocolate chip brownie, a large bag of chips, or a two-liter bottle of Pepsi."

It is open at from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Sundays.
