Paul Sebert/For The Herald-Dispatch Grindstone Coffeeology has opened a brick-and-mortar location at 816 8th St. in Huntington in addition to its mobile coffee truck.

HUNTINGTON — If you're serious about espresso and cappuccino, chances are that Grindstone Coffeeology's silver truck has been a familiar sight around town. Owner Brendan Fenn launched the mobile coffee shop on Memorial Day 2016. Last year the coffee shop opened a brick-and-mortar location at the Wild Ramp which has since moved to a new home. Unofficially dubbed "Grindstone Central," the small coffee shop is now located at 816 8th St., Huntington.

"We bought the space and closed on the first of March," Fenn said. "We spent about four weeks refitting it."

Fenn said the space received new walls, lighting, floors, counters and wiring in addition to a new ceiling.

"It's quite a different location than the hot dog shop that was in before us," he said. "We don't have a strong food focus yet, but we are adding new items each week. At the new location we have a drive-thru and a small dine-in area. We still have the truck, and we also have a catering set-up where we can bring a coffee bar to weddings and parties."

Just like the truck, the new shop offers a mix of espresso-based drinks including cappuccino, lattes and an Australian flat-white. For a warm day you can choose to cool off with a cold brew iced coffee. Drinks are $3.50 for a small, $4 for a medium, and $4.50 for a large. For 50 cents you can add a flavor such as mocha, caramel, vanilla or white chocolate.

"In addition to our coffees, we have house-brewed unsweetened and sweet tea. We also do Italian sodas, which are 20 ounces for $3 topped with whipped cream." Fenn said. "We are always introducing new variations on our menu items and introducing new items."

If you are looking for a snack, you can enjoy muffins ($3), a caramel slice ($3.50) or gluten-free oatmeal bars ($3.50). If you have a sweet tooth, there's also salted caramel squares ($1). There's a breakfast bagel ($4) with a baked egg, bacon, cheese and relish or a toasted cheese croissant ($3.50). There's also a brunch sandwich ($4.50) featuring turkey, spinach, cheese, avocado and relish on a toasted English muffin.
