The newest location of Rapid Fired Pizza opened its doors Monday, April 8. The restaurant chain based out of Ohio promises "Amazingly Good, Amazingly Fast" pizza. Customers can custom-make their own pizza from a wide variety of different toppings for a flat price or choose from an assortment of craft pizzas. The menu also includes calzones and pasta bowls.

The new restaurant is owned and operated by Travis Timberlake in partnership with Matt Warnock and Trey Vanhoose. There are currently 33 Rapid Fired locations in the United States.

"The chain started up Kettering, Ohio. My business partners, Matt and Trey, wanted jump out and do something different. The closest Fired Up was in Portsmouth, Ohio; we tried it and went up to corporate. We liked the idea and wanted to bring it to the Tri-State area," Travis Timberlake explained. "This was an existing building which some friends of ours owned space in. This space was empty. We started on the white box in August. It was a timely process but all things considered it went fairly well. We opened on Monday the 8th. We did a pizza giveaway on Tuesday. A week later, we did a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the 16th."

Craft pizzas include the Chicken Bacon Ranch and the Magic Mushroom, which is topped with grilled chicken, feta cheese, mozzarella, mushrooms and arugula. Customers can also make their own calzone with a choice of any sauce, one cheese, two meats and any veggies. There are also pasta bowls such as the Spicy Sausage or the Cheezy Alfredo.

"One of my favorite pizzas is the Hawaiian. It starts with a sweet sauce, mozzarella, ham, pineapple and bacon. We sprinkle brown cinnamon and sugar on it before it goes into the oven," Timberlake said. "Another popular one is the Taco Pizza. I feel like we've sold a ton of taco pizzas."

The menu even has dessert pizzas, such as the cherry pie and caramel apple pie. The restaurant also offers a small assortment of craft beers.

"I recommend that when our customers first walk in is that they do a 'build your own.' It's the same price as the craft pizzas and you can customize them however you like. They start at a $7.95 price point for a personal pan or flat-crust pizza," Timberlake said. "We are going to make delivery available through Door Dash. We have a custom convection conveyor oven. Our pizzas are typically ready in 180 seconds or less. The best thing about our concept is that it's fast, casual pizza."
