A small pizzeria with a retro arcade and friendly service, Rudy's Pizzeria started as a Monty's pizza franchise before changing hands in 2014. It is now owned by Margo Magana who also owns El Ranchito in Huntington. The restaurant is named in honor of Margo's late brother Rodolfo "Rudy" Magana who was murdered in 2015. It is managed by Robert Drummond, assisted by his sister Debbie.
"We make our dough fresh every day. It's not frozen. We have a party special with two toppings, chips, and a 2 liter bottle of pop for $15.99. We try to keep things affordable. We also have pizza bread for $3 and a hot ham and cheese sub for $5. We use a Superior Boneless Tavern Ham," Robert Drummond, Manager of Rudy's explained. "We went back to the basics. I worked for Curt Nichols at Monty's back in the 1980s. I worked for him for years. We used some of the same quality toppings that I used back in the 80s. We're the only pizzeria in town that uses Provolone exclusively as the cheese. Everyone else either uses Mozzarella or a Provolone/Mozzarella blend. It's more expensive but it's a better quality cheese."
Pizza sizes range from 10 to 18 inches. There's an assortment of 18 inch specialty pies including the BBQ Chicken Pizza ($14.99), Veggie Pizza ($18.99) and the Hawaiian Pizza ($14.99.) The restaurant also offers a selection of sandwiches served on Pepperidge Farms sub rolls such as the BLT Sub ($3.99), Stromboli ($5.50), and Philly Cheese Steak ($7).
Customers looking for healthier options can enjoy a Chef Salad ($4.99) or a Garden Salad ($5.95.) There's also Rudy's Baked Potato ($4.50) topped with pepperoni, hot sausage, onion, green peppers, banana peppers, cheese, and butter. Appetizers include Mozzarella Sticks ($4.99). Jalapeno Poppers ($4.99), and Garlic Bread for $1.50. Traditional and boneless wings are also available in packs of 5 ($3.75,) 10 ($7.50,) and 25 ($18.75.)
"We have a game room with some classic games. We have one heck of a birthday party special. We have birthday party special with three one topping 18 inch pizzas, two bottles of pop, two bags of pop and roll of quarters. All of the games are 25 cents," Robert Drummond explained. "We are going back to the retro games. We are going to add some more pinball games, and crane machine. All of the games are eligible for sale."
