Shelem performs with DJ illSpin during 9th Street Live on June 4, 2021, in downtown Huntington.

HUNTINGTON — Shelem returns to Marshall University on Saturday to perform at Thunder Street, the pregame block party on 20th Street, between 3rd and 5th avenues.

The event marks Shelem’s homecoming to MU since he graduated in 2018.

Thunder Street opens at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, and closes at 1:15 p.m., 45 minutes before kickoff, which is set for 2 p.m. as the Thundering Herd takes on the Monarchs of Old Dominion University.

Shelem will perform at noon.

Through every performance, Shelem works to bring positive light to West Virginia, especially Huntington, his publicist Cheyenne DeBolt said.

Thunder Street also will feature a variety of food trucks offering both sweet and savory fare.
