HUNTINGTON - Braving the wind and rain, representatives with Goodwill Industries of KYOWVA were stationed at the intersection of Spring Valley Drive and Piedmont Road near the Spring Valley Bridge Wednesday with buckets and signs collecting donations for Goodwill's annual Coats for Kids drive.
Kayla Dodd, the director of marketing, said the donations will be used to purchase at least 300 brand new coats, hats and gloves for children in need.
"This is really important because not only are children in need of these items, but it's fun to see the community come together to get donations for children in need in the area," she said.
Dodd said she was hoping to raise at least $1,000 Wednesday for the Coats for Kids drive.
She said they can also accept donations online at http://www.goodwillhunting.org/donate-online.
