HUNTINGTON — A Huntington man pleaded guilty to a federal escape charge Monday after walking away from a halfway house last year.

Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa G. Johnston said Jeremy Midkiff, 39, admitted he left Dismas Charities Inc., a Bureau of Prisons residential reentry facility, in October 2020, without permission and did not return. He was housed at Dismas because of a previously federal drug trafficking conviction

He faces up to five years in federal prison when sentenced Nov. 10.
