HUNTINGTON — A motorcyclist was killed at about 2:45 p.m. Monday in a crash on Ohio River Road near Wholesale Supply Company.

Cabell County Sheriff Chuck Zerkle said the crash occurred when a driver backed out of the Wholesale parking lot into traffic. Another car in the same lane braked, causing the motorcyclist behind them to swerve into the opposite lane, into oncoming traffic.

The operator of the motorcycle, Jonathan Blake, 37, died in a collision. No one else involved in the crash was injured.

The person who backed into oncoming traffic has been charged with “improper backing,” according to Zerkle.
