HURRICANE — The Hurricane Civic Chorus delighted its audience at its Spring 2019 concert on Tuesday, May 21, at Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church.

The four-part male and female nonprofit group, directed by Branita Holbrook-Bratka and accompanied by Tom Minshall, performed variety of songs, from beloved spirituals to nostalgic love songs to Broadway classics.

Soloists sang "Ave Maria," "Always Remember Us This Way," "A Whole New World," "Deep River" and "Down to the River to Pray."

The concert included a special tribute to the 31-year history of the chorus. A reception followed, hosted by Moonlight Cookies of Huntington and members of the chorus.

Prospective new members can visit the Fall Season Open House at 7 p.m. on Aug. 27 at Forrest Burdette UMC.
