WINFIELD — The Putnam County Sheriff's Department during the month of May responded to 1,287 calls for assistance, and made 46 felony arrests and 55 misdemeanor arrests, according to a news release from Sheriff Steve Deweese.

The road patrol also investigated 72 auto crashes, and issued 17 misdemeanor citations. Furthermore, the road patrol arrested seven DUIs and completed 135 written complaints; 46 warrants and 14 domestic violence petitions served in person.

Home Confinement averaged 36 inmates with 187 home verifications, and Western Regional Jail averaged 91 inmates per day. The Process division served 345 civil papers.

The Tax Office accepted 62 concealed carry permits and issued 56 permits; 999 DMV decals were also issued.
