WAYNE — A Wayne County woman on Tuesday confessed to murdering another local resident and concealing the body in a trash bag, according to Wayne County Magistrate Court documents.

Around 9 a.m. Tuesday, troopers were dispatched from South Charleston Communications, along with Wayne and Cabell county, for a report of a body found on Berry Branch Drive in Branchland, off Raccoon Creek Road.

Tina Adkins, 58, of Branchland, was reported missing Monday, according to the court complaint, and her body was discovered in a trash bag by Adkins’ family in 28-year-old Carrie Nicole Ramey’s residence.

Ramey confessed to the murder Tuesday and was charged with first-degree murder and concealment of a deceased human body.
