Letter was a disappointment

I am disappointed in you for publishing a letter which clearly spewed hate speech and false claims. I know you can do better.

I'm referring to the letter from Don Hiles published on May 16 in which he makes the baseless claim that there are "bizarre reports of illegals getting free prescriptions and health care." And then goes on to suggest that we should "go down on the border and kill 50,000 of them?"

I get that some Americans are anti-immigration. I'm not, but that is beside the point. Publishing fake news about free healthcare for "illegals" and a suggestion to "kill 50,000 of them" is beyond where you should ever dream to go if you wish to remain a respectable newspaper.

Again, I am disappointed and somewhat appalled.
