The Market on 3rd Avenue is a hive of activity during the lunch hour. A mix of people wearing business suits, casual business attire, and exercise clothing are all mingling and getting food at the open-concept marketplace across from the Big Sandy Superstore Arena.

A line has formed at the Fuel Counter, where one person observes that everyone looks so healthy.

"We get a lot of people before they go to the gym or after they go," Fuel Counter manager Staphanie McCracken said. "People are working out and then coming here."

The people in line are taking advantage of Fuel Counter's healthier fare with fresh toppings for pizzas and salads.

"It's been steady and that's what I like," McCracken said. "This has been something Huntington has needed for a long time. A year ago when I applied for the manager spot, I walked in here and thought 'This place is awesome.'"

The Market has grown by leaps and bounds. There is something for almost anyone.

"It's a one-stop shop. Everything is here. It's nice," McCracken said.

Across from Fuel Counter, a sweet smell comes from baked treats that could tempt even the most disciplined fitness buff.

Jumod Jones is rolling out a fresh batch of cinnamon rolls at Dang Good Cinnamon Rolls and Waffles.

The menu is filled with delicious fare from the cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing to Monte Cristo sandwiches made with the cinnamon rolls. And the West Virginia staple pepperoni roll is not to be missed.

The man behind the sweet magic this day is Jones. Jones is a Huntington native who has been working here since the place opened in January.

"I just like to bake," Jones said when asked what drew him to this line of work. "It's fun working here. I grew up in Huntington and I see a lot of my friends while I'm working."

With a menu packed full of delicious treats, what does the man who makes them recommend?

"That's easy, it's the Ooey Gooey Bites," he said. "It's like the center of a cinnamon bun in a bowl. It's really soft and - it's just so good."
