At the Village Renew-All Antique Mall at Old Central City, a visitor is happily checking out with her finds.

"I found these books for my niece," Sienna Cordoba said while holding her treasures.

Formerly known as Old Town Antiques, The Village Renew-All Antique Mall is unique in that it houses many different vendors. Everything from glassware, toys and military uniforms are on display and for sale in the mall at 610 W. 14th St.

"We rent out spaces to the vendors. As you walk around you can see different things," said Sue Wright, one of the owners of the mall.

Wright lamented that the reporter had come when there weren't a lot of customers.

"We were really busy this morning," she said. "We didn't get to take lunch until just about an hour ago."

But one customer in particular was getting a lot of attention for how she came to find the mall.

Cordoba was traveling from Baltimore to Kansas for a job and decided to take a rest stop in Huntington.

"I wanted to get out and stretch my legs and see something unique," Cordoba said. "I stopped in Hurricane and asked some people at the rest area if there was some place unique to stop and check out and they suggested this. So I just followed the signs from the interstate."

Cordoba was pleased with her finds and was delighted in what she found traveling through the Mountain State.

"Everything is so green and pretty," she said. "I like to go on adventures, so I stop a lot. I left Baltimore at 8:30 this morning so I'm not making very good time."

Travel speed wasn't a problem for Cordoba. She still had two days to reach her destination in Kansas, where she was starting a summer job with the U.S. Parks Service.

After well wishes from customers and owners alike, Cordoba walked back to her car with a friendly wave and broad smile saying, "Thanks for my treasures."

This caused Wright to smile, as well.

"I think when people come in here they get a different view of West Virginia," she said. "They will come here and see we're not the stereotypical West Virginians everyone thinks."

Cordoba was certainly right about what she found. There are plenty of treasures around the Village Renew-All Antique Mall.
