MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Brewers released former Hurricane High School star pitcher Alex Wilson on Saturday.

The Brewers sent Wilson, 32, outright to Triple-A San Antonio in May. There, Wilson turned in a 2.13 earned run average in 38 innings.

A second-round pick of the Boston Red Sox out of Texas A&M in 2009, Wilson has appeared in 303 big league games with Boston, Detroit and Milwaukee since 2013. He has a career record of 14-14 with a 3.44 ERA.
