WINFIELD, W.Va. - Sissonville registered a 62-49 victory Wednesday against top-seeded Winfield in a Class AA, Region IV, Section 1 semifinal.

Sissonville (20-4) set up a sectional final date Friday at Wayne. Winfield finished with a 16-7 record.

Laila Arthur pumped in 34 points for the Indians and Marleigh Bays added 10.

Z.Z. Russell's 13 points led the Generals while Mara McGrew and Emily Hudson both netted 12.

JOHNSON CENTRAL 75, MAGOFFIN 67: Isaiah May's double-double performance helped Johnson Central advance in the Kentucky 57th District boys basketball semifinals Wednesday at Paintsville High School.

May had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Cory VanHoose led the Golden Eagles (22-7) with 24 points, Gabe Ferrell followed with 17 and Jacob Rice scored 15.

Aden Barnett scored 22 to lead Magoffin County (15-14).

Johnson Central and Paintsville meet Friday night for the district title.

FAIRLAND 35, ROCK HILL 17: The Dragons (20-4) held the Redmen (5-19) scoreless in the first quarter on their way to a Division III, Jackson 2 sectional championship in Jackson, Ohio. Aiden Porter led Fairland with 10 points. Kadin France paced Rock Hill with 10.

FAIRLAND 8 11 4 12 - 35: Polcyn 3, Porter 10, Mondlak 9, Chinn 6, Thomas 7.

GALLIA ACADEMY 62, RIVER VALLEY 35: The seventh-seeded Blue Devils (15-7) routed the 10th seed Raiders (3-20) in a Division II, Southeastern 2 sectional tournament semifinal in Londonderry, Ohio. Gallia Academy advances to Saturday's 3 p.m. finals against No. 2 seed Jackson.

Cory Call led the Gallia Blue Devils with 17 points. Justin McClelland scored 14 and Logan Blouir and Blaine Carter 12 each. Jordan Lambert paced River Valley with 14 points.

COVENANT 79, S. CHARLESTON CHRISTIAN 56: Gabe Roberts had 16 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in the win for Covenant (17-5). Josh Roten scored 18 and grabbed nine rebounds. Samuel Roten scored 14.
