Golf For Kids' Sake

The 20th annual Golf For Kids' Sake, which benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-State, takes place June 21 at Bellefonte Country Club in Russell, Kentucky.

Golf For Kids' Sake features a scramble format with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $150 per person or $600 per team. Businesses or persons interested can also sponsor a hole and have a team included for $750. Breakfast and lunch are included.

In addition to golf, there will be an aerial display from Team Fastrax, America's Skydiving Team. Prior to play, Team Fastrax will land on the No. 1 fairway to present the American flag.

All proceeds benefit the local agency. For more information, call 304-522-2191 or 606-329-8799.

Babe Ruth Baseball

Huntington Southeastern Babe Ruth will host the 2019 Ohio Valley Regional Tournament from July 25-29.

The tournament features 12 to 14 teams from seven states, who will participate as state champions or state runners-up.

Over the four days of the tournament, there will be nearly 600 people from those seven states coming into the Huntington area, which is a local boon for area businesses, such as hotels, restaurants and retail stores.

"This is a great opportunity not only for youth baseball in our area, but also for local businesses that will see an economic impact from this event," said Mike Shockley, local tournament coordinator for Southeastern Babe Ruth.
